If you are in the area, this is a very worthwhile place to visit. The staff were excellent, friendly and very knowledgeable and the birds were incredible. You can easily see that they keep very well these birds happy and comfortable in this fully licensed zoo.

I love to watch birds of prey, their incredible patience just waiting for an ideal opportunity, conserving all their energy for the next meal whilst always staying vigilant, ready for anything.

The two displays I saw were excellent. Informative, funny and it fascinated me to learn about the birds’ survival skills and I came away feeling educated in the nicest possible way.

With over 35 different birds of prey and owls, including Golden Eagles, Buzzards and many more, there is an amazing selection to see.

There are more behind the scenes that the visitors do not see. It is indeed 24 hours, 365 days a year operation. The Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre also cares for injured or unwanted birds and provides them with shelter and care.

If you are keen on photographing these magnificent birds, this is an ideal place to go. We enjoyed the falcons, which were magnificent in flight. The other nice thing is you can get quite close to the birds as they sit comfortably on their perches. It is almost like they are posing for the camera.

There was ample parking, and we also could visit the Balloch Information Centre, which is just a short distance away.

I certainly learnt a lot from my visit and will make sure that I will return in the future.
