The rigid routine of office life is a distant memory. In Colombia, I discovered a vibrant, unexpected second life. This country has offered me a kaleidoscope of experiences, from the heart of Bogotá’s classrooms and the meticulous work of English book editing, to the adrenaline rush of motorcycling one of Latin America’s most challenging roads, and the rewarding labor of building a home. Beyond that, I’ve had the privilege of managing a sprawling 5×7 km tourist park and caring for four surprisingly demanding ostriches.
